The 23-year-old defender has been outstanding for Villarreal after returning from an impressive loan stint with Malaga, and Chelsea were considering a January swoop for the Spanish centre-back before deciding not to sign anybody.
Recent reports have claimed Chelsea have joined the likes of Arsenal in the chase for the defender and may be ready to pay the money it would take to seal a transfer deal.
Now the AS website has claimed that Chelsea will have to pay close to £65 million this transfer window in order to sign the very talented young defender
The Villarreal starlet recently hinted at a potential move to the Premier League by revealing that he’s been learning English to pass the time amid the coronavirus lockdown.
He told El Periodico Mediterraneo: “In the morning I do the training regime and then I eat in line with the guidelines established by the club.
Chelsea definitely need to improve this back-line in the summer and for £65 million, Torres could be a very decent signing for the club.

The Blues back-line may have improved after the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, but they have already shipped too many goals in the Premier League and Tuchel knows that he needs to sign a few players that will come in, and improve the back-line enough for a Premier League challenge, with Torres on the shopping list.
