Sarr ready to make impact, Haaland transfer hint and Guehi completes medical in top Chelsea news…

Chelsea have agreed a deal with Crystal Palace for promising defender Marc Guehi

Guehi has been on Chelsea’s books since 2007, having seen his potential spotted early and there are many coaches at the club that firmly believe that he has the quality to be a top-level defender

Much of his experience to date was, however, collected while with Swansea in 2020-21. He made 45 appearances for the Swans in all competitions, helping them to the Championship play-off final, and also figured for his country in the group stage of the European U21 Championship.

But Chelsea have now made the decision to let the defender leave the club in a deal that will cost Palace around the £20 million mark.

Guehi is undergoing a medical with Palace and will be signing a five-year contract through to the summer of 2026

Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, who came up the ranks in west London with Guehi, has also previously revealed just how difficult it is to play against his team-mate.

Gallagher, when asked in an England U21 “team-mates” video who the strongest player in the squad was, said: “Definitely Marc.

“You can’t get round him and you can’t move him, so it’s definitely him.”

The lad is very gifted and a player that could be a real top-class defender, so the fact that Chelsea are letting him leave the club without giving him a real chance in the squad, is a massive mistake

However, £20 million is alot of money for a defender that has played much at the very top of the game, so it would be a good amount of money to spend on players that Thomas Tuchel would like to have in his squad

Chelsea target Erling Haaland has dropped the strongest hint yet that he is to remain at Borussia Dortmund for the 2021-22 campaign

Haaland has been in the headlines alot over the past few months as there is a strong feeling that Chelsea are preparing to give the big striker a massive contract to make a move to London

There is also a strong feeling that Chelsea are prepared to break records in order to get a deal done and pay close to £150 million to wrap up a transfer deal, despite the fact that Dortmund do not want to sell their star man

However, it seems that Haaland is set to stay at the Bundesliga giants for another season, which will be a massive blow to Tuchel, who is very interested in signing the player

The striker took to Twitter to confirm that he had started preparations for next season with Marco Rose’s side, after he was absent for the initial start of club fitness tests on Monday.

“Day one,” the 20-year-old confirmed on social media, before adding: “Ready for the journey.”

Haaland was pictured in his training gear alongside the post, sporting a double thumbs-up gesture at the club’s training ground in Brackel.

Look, football is all about the money, so if Chelsea offer the right amount of money, Dortmund will have to accept as they risk losing their star man for just £69 million next summer

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out, but at the end of the day, if Chelsea do get a transfer deal all done, he would be a brilliant signing for the club

There are many more months to go in the transfer window, so even though this is a strong hint, it is not a confirmation that he is staying put guys

Melang Sarr has admitted that he is ready to make an impact at Chelsea after arriving back at the club

Sarr arrived at Chelsea with a promising reputation from Nice back in August 2020 but was immediately sent on a season-long loan to Porto last term, where he made 19 appearances for the Portuguese giants

However, Sarr will have been desperate to make a good impression as he joined up with his Chelsea team-mates for pre-season training this month and he has admitted that he is now seeking to make an impact at the club

‘It’s a pleasure to be here, starting to work, we are working very hard and very well so I’m happy. I have enjoyed being here,’ he told Chelsea’s official website.

‘I have spoken a little bit with the manager, he knows I speak French so we have been talking. I have a good feeling here; everybody is very good with me. I can feel everybody is ambitious here.

‘They want to work and they really want us to give the best every day, and that’s a good thing because that’s how I see things. I really want to work hard every day and try to improve in every aspect.

‘I hope to join the team and help the team to the top.

‘They finished the season as Kings of Europe. I’m here to help and to let the team stay at the highest level, trying to bring all the good energy and my work to the team. I know the club is ambitious and I am ambitious as well, so it’s a perfect match.’
