Chelsea have been drawn in Pot 1 for the UEFA Champions League group stage following last season's success. The Blues, who secured their second-ever trophy in the European competition in May, are among the top seeds for the draw which takes place on Thursday, August 26.
The west London club are with seven other European sides - Villarreal, Atletico Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, LOSC Lille and Sporting Lisbon - in Pot 1. One team is drawn out of each Pot to form a group, but Chelsea will not be able to face a fellow Premier League side this early on in the tournament.
