The Blues were strongly linked with Sevilla’s France international Jules Kounde over the summer’s transfer window but were unable to seal a deal for the central defender before the window slammed shut.
The Premier League giants could enter the January transfer market for a new player at the back, and according to a recent report from football.london, Kalidou koulibaly may be a potential option for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
The 30-year-old was mentioned with a move away from the Serie A giants over the summer, but the transfer market closed with the Senegalese still in Italy.Kalidou’s future remains the subject of much talk, though, as his existing deal will be no longer valid in July 2023, and Napoli are said to be open to a sale.
The former Metz ace has made two appearances for Chelsea this season, while the player has represented the Partenopei on 285 occasions since arriving from the Jupiler Pro League side Genk seven years ago. Elsewhere, in a bid to secure senior team football this campaign, Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus- Cheek was reportedly offered to West Ham United on transfer deadline day.
However, the Hammers decided against the move and instead purchased 23-year-old central midfielder Alex Kral from the Russian outfit Spartak Moscow on a season-long loan.
