Brazilian club keen on to agree deal for Chelsea experienced centre-back

Brazilian club Fluminense have reportedly identified Chelsea centre-back, Thiago Silva, as a transfer target ahead of 2022.

Despite turning 37 years of age last month, Brazilian centre-back remains an integral part of Thomas Tuchel’s starting XI at Stamford Bridge. The veteran has played 43 games in all competitions since his arrival in 2020, nine of which have come during the current season helping the Blues to sit on top of the Premier League table.

However, with the centre-back’s contract set to expire in the summer, he will inevitably attract interest from numerous teams with different profiles. According to TuttoMercatoWeb,

team from his homeland, Fluminense have already initiated conversations regarding the possibility of a reunion with their former player. Silva, who has never shied away from acknowledging his fondness for the Brazilian club, made 143 appearances for Fluminense before joining AC Milan in 2009.

Thirteen years after his exit, the report suggests that experienced centre-back is open to returning to the Maracana where he could spend the last years of his career. Chelsea are also in danger to lose Andreas Christensen in January as Danish centre-back seems to be unhappy with his playing time he might force exit from the Blues.
