Chelsea have had their squad stretched to the max by injuries in recent weeks, and for once the international break is a bit of a relief as it allows players to get another two weeks of recovery in before the Blues play again.
In the case of some – like Christian Pulisic – it’s also giving recently returned players the chance to pick up some minutes, and the American winger made the most of his return for his country last night, scoring within 5 minutes of getting on the pitch.
His latest injury has been the last straw for many Chelsea fans, who have had immense patience with the former Dortmund man since he arrived. Despite his obvious talent, many would say the club should cash in on the “sicknote” whenever they get the chance – and that could be sooner than anticipated.
Sport in Barcelona report that the Catalan giants are watching Pulisic, hoping to sign him to add to their attacking options. They describe the winger as “highly valued” across Europe, and make it sound like there will be offers to come.
It seems we will soon find out whether the club have any more patience left with the player than some of the fans.
