Chelsea told to break the bank to sign 23-year-old Juventus forward

 

Juventus may let Chelsea target Federico Chiesa leave in the summer of 2022 if they receive a proposal in the region of €150 million (£127 million), according to Gianni Balzarini.

The Italian journalist states Juve would be tempted to cash in on the 23-year-old star for such a figure if the likes of the Blues, Manchester City and other “big” teams get involved in a bidding war:

“Will an auction be triggered? Probably, yes. We must be realistic and think that his name is probably in the sights of big teams. It will be necessary to understand what Juve will do. If you get a PSG, Chelsea or Manchester City with €150m, it’s hard to say no.”

Reports in the German press over the summer suggested that Thomas Tuchel’s side did table a €100 million offer for Federico, but those reports were never substantiated in the Italian or English media.

The Italy international is undoubtedly one of the continent’s most in-demand players, but it is not difficult to say whether Chelsea chairman Roman Abramovich would sanction a bid that would smash his club’s current transfer record.

Federico is actually still on loan at I Biaconeri from Fiorentina, but the player’s move will be made permanent next summer when it is believed clubs will try to tempt Juventus into selling up.
