Agent of Chelsea target teases Turin exit as Abramovich approves Tuchel’s left-back pursuitDaily round-up: Matthijs de Ligt reported to be ready for a move away from Juventus, Roman Abramovich is now an EU citizen and Thomas Tuchel pursuits French left-back
Mina Raiola the agent of Chelsea target, Matthijs de Ligt in an interview with NRC has revealed that the defender wants out of Turin,” He is ready for a new step" - "he thinks that too".
Juventus could be looking at selling the 22-year-old who they brought for £67.5m from Ajax in 2019. Reports linking the dutch international to Chelsea have been rife especially with the prospect of them losing Antonio Rudiger at the end of the season. Thiago Silva, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta are the three other names in defence who could potentially leave on a free in the summer.
Our take: Things are looking good for Chelsea if they can get someone young who can commit their future at Chelsea - a defender being their immediate priority.

Abramovich gives backing for Hernandez pursuit
Chelsea are looking to strengthen in another area of their defence, with a link to left-back Theo Hernandez. El Nacional has reported that Roman Abramovich has backed Thomas Tuchel’s bid for the AC Milan player.
The report states that the player who is the brother of Bayern Munich centre-back Lucas Hernandez will not be a cheap buy - valued at over £40m. But, support from the Chelsea owner on a hefty bid could push the Blues front of the queue for the 24-year-old.
Chelsea have been in the market for a left-back after Ben Chilwell sustained a knee injury against Juventus, with Marcos Alonso having to jump back into the starting eleven.
Our take: Yes Chelsea, please we need reinforcements. Alonso isn't going to cut it, even as a backup option and after his bright start to the season…
Roman given EU citizenship
Roman Abramovich has been granted a Portuguese passport and European Union citizenship due to his Jewish heritage. The wealthy oligarch pulled his UK visa application after tensions between London and Moscow following the Salisbury poisonings per a report by The Guardian.
That also meant that the billionaire owner of Chelsea Football Club shelved plans for a stadium rebuild, which would have cost £500m. The EU passport will now allow the Russian to pass the UK’s point-based system immigration system if he wants to stay and work in the UK.
Our take: It will be great to see Roman back at Stamford Bridge watching matches again.
