Chelsea are keen on Paris Saint-Germain’s Brazil international Marquinhos, according to a report from Fichajes. The west Londoners are planning to reinforce their backline next year.
Head coach Thomas Tuchel wants to prepare for the imminent exit of several of his current stars. The German tactician has his eyes on Les Parisiens captain to make up for that.
The Blues could bid farewell to as many as four of their centre-halves next summer. Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen, Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger are all in the final years of their existing deals.
The management are desperate not to lose all of them with one accord, but contract discussions have not been progressive thus far.
The London-based outfit are preparing for the inevitable and have pinpointed Marquinhos as their number one target. Chelsea failed with an attempt to prise him away from Parc des Princes this summer.
However, the Premier League giants are ready to try again in 2022. He is one of the club’s key players and was handed the armband after now-Blues star Thiago Silva left the club this summer.
As such, the side will have to be at their very best to convince the player to move to Stamford Bridge.
