Chelsea signed Romelu Lukaku this summer in what was a club record fee. He arrived back at the club he was at when he was just 18-years old, with that spell not going too well. But he returned matured and more of the complete striker having had a great career since leaving Chelsea.
There has always been a special place in his heart for this club and when they came calling for him again, there was no way that he could reject that chance. Although his start to his new spell at Chelsea hasn’t been as amazing as he would have liked it to have been, he adores this club and you know he will be doing all he can to make it a success here the second time around and Blues fans will have no doubts that he will be able to to just that.
As reported by The Daily star, Lukaku’s agent, Federico Pastorello has been speaking about his client leaving Inter this summer.
“We have received a lot of criticism from the Inter fans, but unfortunately when these things happen, they cause sorrow. “The truth is that the decision to leave Inter was much more painful than what people think, so much so that we really discussed it a lot.
“I am sincere in saying that we went ahead with this negotiation only because on the other side there was another club [Chelsea] that represented a lot for Romelu.
“From an emotional and personal point of view it was very difficult, but I repeat: Chelsea looked for him with great desire and this was certainly very important for Romelu and in the choice he made. “Football goes on, Inter are now first in the standings, thanks also to the new players, so in this sense we are all happy.
“Let’s say that clearly also due to the difficulty, the economic level reached, it is an operation that made me very proud, as it made me proud to have brought him to Italy from [Manchester] United, another very very complicated negotiation.”
