Barcelona defender Sergino Dest has previously admitted that life in Spain ‘fits him’ amid rumours regarding Chelsea’s interest. The American full-back has been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge over the past few weeks, with the Blues keen to bolster their defensive options following the long-term injuries suffered by Ben Chilwell and Reece James . So far, any move appears to be in the early stages, with no bid seemingly being lodged as of the current time, although it is reported that Barcelona would be willing to sell the former Ajax man for approximately €20m (£16.7m) as per suggestions in Spain.
Meanwhile, it is also hinted that Dest would likely reject any move away from the Camp Nou, having made the decision to fight for his place under new boss Xavi. That appears to have been an opinion that the 21- year-old expressed even before Chelsea’s interest in him. Speaking in an interview with Soccer Bible, he expressed his satisfaction with life in Spain having completed a move from the Netherlands back in 2020.
