That's according to Sky Germany who state the Blues are also keen on the 24-year-old attacker who has been in sensational form this season - scoring 34 goals and adding 20 assists in all competitions.
The player’s current deal runs down in 2024 and does not include any release clause. The German club, for their part, have no intention to sell their prized asset in the summer and have offered him a new contract.
Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the France international’s club teammate, Josko Gvardiol, and a double deal could potentially be on the cards.
