Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano is being considered by Chelsea as a potential transfer target, according to reports in the UK. The France international is being eyed as an alternative to Juventus’s Matthijs de Ligt who, could, coincidentally, end up replacing Upamecano at the Bundesliga champions.
Needless to say, fans on Twitter are not particularly enthusiastic about the Blues’ interest in Upamecano, with many feeling that the centre-back simply isn’t good enough to play for the London club:

Considering that Bayern paid £37m to sign Upamecano from RB Leipzig only last summer, it is concerning that they would be willing to let him leave so soon.
At the moment, it is not believed that Upamecano is a priority target. The likes of de Ligt, Jules Kounde and others are also being watched as manager Thomas Tuchel looks to strengthen his options at the back before the start of the new season.
