Bayern Munich have revealed their stance on Jude Bellingham ahead of the summer transfer window. The 19-year-old has been heavily linked with an exit from Borussia Dortmund lately , with Chelsea among several of Europe's biggest clubs interested in securing his signature.
According to the German giants' director Oliver Kahn, the Bundesliga champions will not be making a move for the midfielder. The former Germany international insisted that the club have sufficient cover in said department.
"We are not thinking about it at all," Kahn told Bild, as quoted by BirminghamLive. "Of course, Bellingham is an outstanding player. "But we have (Joshua) Kimmich, (Leon) Goretzka, (Ryan) Gravenberch, and (Marcel) Sabitzer. I can say we're well equipped in that position."
Bellingham has been subject to long-term interest from Chelsea , football.london understand. The west Londoners watched the England international during his time as an academy player at Birmingham City, but after failing to act on their interest, Dortmund swooped in and signed the teenage sensation instead. According to The Athletic , Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Real Madrid have joined the Blues in the race for the wonderkid.
The report adds that Dortmund do not necessarily want to sell Bellingham, but they've set an asking price of €150million (£131million). It's said that he does not have a release clause in his deal, so a bidding war could easily break out. The Telegraph have since said that the west Londoners are looking to jump ahead of pursuit leaders Liverpool and Madrid in the queue.
Bellingham has already become an integral feature for both club and country. With the Qatar World Cup just around the corner, his value could easily rocket if he performs well for England on the biggest stage.
