Chelsea and Tottenham are allegedly battling for Porto forward Luis Diaz.

The Colombian left winger finished joint top scorer at July’s Copa America finals, alongside living legend Lionel Messi, with four goals.

Diaz inspired the Dragons to the 2020 Portuguese league and cup double in his maiden season at the Estadio do Dragao.


And the 24-year-old star, for whom Porto paid Colombian side, Atletico Junior, just £7 million two years ago, has made a flying start to this campaign with two goals in his first three matches.

Now Lisbon outlet MaisFutebol states Diaz’s advisors have travelled to the UK for talks over a transfer to the Premier League and both Chelsea and Spurs chiefs are set to meet them to discuss a possible deal.

The representatives are said to have spent time in Spain and Portugal before offering their client to the bitter London rivals.


Diaz is under contract with the Liga Portugal Bwin giants until June 2024 and has a £68 million exit clause. However, Sergio Conceicao’s side would accept closer to £30 million for the 23-cap international.

Diaz netted against hosts Peru (twice), Argentina and Brazil as his country bagged a third-place finish at this summer’s Copa America.

Luis has struck an impressive 50 times in 250 club matches for Porto plus home-country teams Barranquilla and Junior.
