Antonio Rudiger’s immediate Chelsea future has come under major doubts. The German international’s contract runs out next summer, meaning he will be free to speak with other clubs and sign a pre-contract with them in January, which is just four months away now.
Chelsea are trying to tie him down to a new and improved deal with them, but as things stand Rudiger is stalling on this and not accepting it.
It’s not over yet of course and negotiations will continue, but Eurosport are reporting that Rudiger wants to explore other options this summer rather than stay at Chelsea.
PSG are one of the major clubs showing an interest, and as the report states, Chelsea are waiting on Antonio Rudiger’s contract decision as he weighs up his options before committing to an extended stay at Stamford Bridge.
This is a risky game of course, because Rudiger could just agree to join a new team in January. But Chelsea will have contingency plans.
