Rudiger sends James message. Chelsea stretched their league at the top of the Premier League to four points on Saturday afternoon following a 3-0 win away to Newcastle United. The Blues were helped by both Manchester City and Liverpool dropping points to Crystal Palace and Brighton respectively - Conor Gallagher grabbing a goal and an assist against City.
After full-time, Rudiger sent a message to two-goal hero Reece James on Instagram. "Three points and a clean sheet on the road. Up the Chels! @reecejames strong like a rock #Hustle #AlwaysBelieve" Instagram Roman Abramovich sent damning warning as Chelsea face severe transfer threat from Newcastle
Premier League leaders Chelsea travelled to St James' Park to take on relegation contenders Newcastle United in a clash that wasn't always such a one-sided affair. The Magpies' latest takeover serves as a threat to the Blues' dominance and competition for European places, however, that may be a few years down the line yet.
Roman Abramovich will begin to gain a better idea of the timeline until Newcastle inevitably do pose a threat following the January transfer window - the first opportunity for the new owners to flaunt their wealth.
The Chelsea centre back also suggests that he loves playing under fellow countryman Tuchel who has injected new life in his performance after taking over last season. It seems the Champions League winning manager has made it clear what he expects of him at the pitch – ‘to be aggressive’ and ‘to be a leader.’
Mount was expected to start again at St. James' Park, after bagging a hat-trick last weekend against Norwich City. But on the morning of the game, he woke up feeling ill and was sent back to London to recover. Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech starting behind Kai Havertz instead.
Writing on Twitter after the game, however, Mount delivered an update: "Gutted to have missed the game but what a performance from the lads to get the win. "Woke up and didn’t feel 100% (non COVID related) but will hopefully be fully recovered over the next couple of days. Up the CHELS!"
Thats Chelsea, champions of England in the making!Who dey challenge?
