Chelsea dealt fresh blow in pursuit of brilliant defensive midfielder
West Ham United are determined to retain the services of Declan Rice and have no interest in doing business with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United for their prized asset, even if the club receive a proposal in excess of £100 million.
The Englishman had an excellent UEFA Euro 2020 campaign with his country and has picked up where he left off at the club level with the Irons this season, with David Moyes’ men sitting third in the Premier League and impressing in the UEFA Europa League.
Declan’s future was the subject of intense talk across the summer transfer market and his outstanding showings this term have only intensified rumours that Rice could be on his way out of the Hammers.
He has turned down two contract proposals from his boyhood team and the PL’s elite are reportedly prepared to test the London Stadium outfit’s resolve for the player.
However, according to The Sun, West Ham United are planning to build their future around Declan as the side attempt to secure regular UCL football and won’t entertain any incoming offers for their vice-captain.
The report adds they are comfortable about the situation considering Rice still has three years remaining on his existing deal in east London.
