The Blues were expected to strengthen their defensive ranks following the sale of defender Kurt Zouma to their Premier League and London rivals West Ham United, with the Brazil international strongly linked with a reunion with the former Les Parisiens coach at Stamford Bridge.
However, the club captain remained in Paris for the 2021-22 campaign, and the player has now addressed the speculation surrounding Thomas Tuchel’s side’s reported interest in him.
Speaking to Le Parisien, the South American said:
“No! It wasn’t even an offer. In fact, the club blocked talks straight away. It shows the faith they have in me. “It is an honour for a club like PSG to put such faith in me. The fact that others are interested in me means I am doing well. “It gives me the motivation to go on, boost my training sessions and play even better. Paris and PSG are the only things on my mind.”
